Tourism is a very complicated business, we want to reduce the impact at the destination but taking the good things tourists can offer to locals, diversity means richness. Barcelona is a global city but, due to globalization many ancient local businesses are disappearing to be replaced for a franchise, we don’t want this to happen. That’s why we make this shops, restaurants, bakeries, pharmacies and many other visible and open to the world. If people know the history behind all this it’s easier for owners to remain open for many more years. Our idea of sustainability is to help many other local businesses, that is what makes a city unique, their people and their traditions.
FAIR BUDGET
Our way to contribute to sustainability is to offer a fair budget, by not charging any commissions to the places we go. This way everybody wins, the customer can pay a fair price for the product and also contribute preserving the traditions, and local business owners can earn fair money to keep growing.

We love Barcelona, and after 2000 years of history we have a lot to tell you. Cities are a live thing and are constantly changing, that changes are what we know as history. In Barcelona many things happened since it was founded, nice and terrible things, and we want to tell you all. Food Souvenir Barcelona
It is born from the passion for cooking, show and tell what our grandparents and parents taught us. We want to show the world what has happened and why, we want the local family businesses with years of history to remain open.
Since 2008 we have seen many local businesses shut down. The financial crisis, the increase of rents…makes it unaffordable for some people to keep their business open, and this is how we want to contribute. Making this places visible again and showing them to people. Because that is the real city. Avoid franchises and everything that comes out of an assembly line. That is the moment to slow down and taste what is real.
In the last 20 years, many centenarian businesses have disappeared due to globalization. The shops that have replaced them have no history and they are like an assembly line. We are losing our artisans and we can not allow it. The same thing happens to the people who work at the countryside. It is a big effort for them just to pay expenses and we don’t value this. Nowadays we prefer quantity over quality. We have to give importance to the quality of what we eat and give importance to the artisans that make this possible.
